I have included a recent article from the Hamilton Spectator regarding an invasive species.
Weather has been cooler over past several days. Still quite noticeable algae but less noticeable odour. Last week, the City of Hamilton arranged for a company to " vacumm up" some of the floating islands of algae. But it is not completely gone.
Continued increase in growth of Blue-green algae, foul smell from decaying aquatic plants and algae.
Catfish at surface swimming, fish jumping at locations. No garbage or plastic objects observed.
Had rained around noon today. Upon observation this evening, noticed clumps of floating algae, floating aquatic grass. Noticed one dead Carp. Noticed some fish swimming though ( unable to identify species), and noticed some ducks, gulls fishing. Also noticeable floating plastic garbage in water but was unable to retrieve. Marina has placed several water agitators at various spots.
Noticeable algae in water. Blue/ green algae notice posted for area.
