Water pretty high and murky. White-breasted nuthatches singing! Early tree buds popping.
This was the highest chloride I've measured at this location. Measured 7.8 correlating to 620. Feels and smells very springy, red-winged blackbirds and robins are back.
Water level has gone down and much less silty. Starting to see buds on some of the shrubs!
I forgot to take a picture, but the ice is finally off of this section, and I was able to take a reading.
Scared a male mallard when I approached the stream. While I was there, I also saw some robins, redwing, blackbird, chickadee, junco, house sparrow and a cardinal. There was also a nearby spicebush blooming (or at least I think it is a spicebush)
Stream was quite high and flowing briskly.
Smells like spring, saw a red bellied woodpecker.
There’s so much salt physically on the roads after the last little weather event a few days ago.
This is the first time I’ve been able to measure at the site since getting my permit because of ice.
Because we are expecting a wintry mix today, I’ve seen salt trucks in the area since last night
Water very high and fast flowing from yesterday’s rain
