Lots of weeds and feathers this morning. Geese are back like they own the place
did not take photos. Beach crowded. Nowhere to leave phone that was safe. Lots of weeds all summer in the lake
This year, the City has opened the washrooms and added an outdoor port-a-potty. Last year, it took the city well into the summer to do so. Still no lifeguards.
Water is still achingly cold. Kids are in it. Beach is clean. No geese. One duck swam by. Beautiful Friday afternoon.
Light snow ice pellets at the beach. Water is so high: it's up and over the cement slab and under the guard chair. WOW
A flock of geese swam by. Just a bitter day at the beach. Hard to believe we ever swam here from May to September 2
Such a quiet place - miss swimming.
Missed last week but took people paddling on Nepahwin for the first time. Also, swimmers' itch has decreased since July. Not so itchy anymore on the legs and arms.
As the summer heat has dissipated, the lake feels cleaner. Clarity at depth. - about 5 feet down I can still see my legs when treading water. The geese have left the beach; only ducks remain. Washrooms and beach cleaner in terms of garbage and mess. (No test strip today - camera not working when the time came.)
Swam this morning prior to the testing. Lake cool upon entry but fine after a few minutes of swimming. You can still linger and float and chat in the pod. Air of sadness as fall starts to descend and there is no word on pools opening in Sudbury.
Also, in good news, washrooms open at the Paris beach side. The change area is closed off. Garbage being dumped regularly now. Thankfully.
