Mountain Lake Creek

Mountain Lake is one of the initial reference lakes for the Magino Project, and the lake itself requires a ATV to access. There is however an access point from a creek that flows from Mountain Lake at a culvert at Goudreau Road. This location is used by the mines as indicators such as a staff gauge was present on the couth side of the road.

Blue Heron observed on the south side in a small wetland.
Culvert is fenced to prevent beavers from clogging, although there was no sign of Beaver.
When discussing this location with the environmental department from the Magino site, they described that this culvert was almost at capacity during the original spring run -off/freshet. This means that Mountain Lake water levels were likely higher than normal.
