WEAR GLOVES AT THIS SITE. Stormwater and Iron-oxidizing bacteria are also pollution sources in the immediate surroundings. Odour: Decomposing/Rotting. There were several birds here, a Baltimore oriole and black junco. There were no water fowl on the water. There was more garbage and plastics present (see photos ) but I did not have a bag to pickup the items.

Please wear gloves it is very important, as the water is very dirty and has no freshwater source at this time. This site could contain ecoli bacteria- or other harmful substances. The site has an abundance of Algae.

There was more garbage than there was before, I picked up additional garbage of 63 pieces- last week it was 146 pieces of plastics between the size of a pin to the size of a tire (plastic wrappers) There were 4 geese in the river body that the contaminated water flows into.

There wqere two crocus growing up from the corner of the stream bed. They look like hybrid of prairie crocus a native species to Boreal forest and colder climates like in the north. Algae has grown in the past 10 days which could be shown through the photos. It looks like blue and green and could indicate a reason to observe further due to its fast growing nature and natural sunlight nad oxygen, this could create a bloom like organism, best to observe over the summer months and see if breakoffs of mats are transported down river or whether they stay. There is zero canopy on the water body right now. There was a mother robin and two geese but they did not land or come near the brown chocolate milk highway running into the freshwater of St Marys River. In the freshwater of St. Marys a sample was taken downstream of the stormwater at a depth of 1 metre

The site is safe to access but the water is contaminanted with god knows what. This stormwater drainage could be contaminated and cause rashes please always use gloves. If the water gets on your skin- wash and sanitize in case of Ecoli.

There was 147 pieces of garbage that were cleaned up- 6 were cans from beer. 5 tim hortion cups and the rest of the pieces were broken off pieces of plastics from a larger unknown source. There should be a catcher here since this waste and pollution go directly into the freshwater sources we are trying to protect and serve.

The site was much higher then prior. The garbage in the water has been washed away. There was new scum in the flood channel. The algae is becoming more vibrant and alive. The site receives sun most of the day. The rocks are orange and red from what looks like rust.

This small stream flowing through through a culvert under a road, surrounded by snow-covered banks. Banks are steep and covered in snow with some exposed vegetation and patches of dead grass visible. Steep slopes can be slippery. Wear gloves while monitoring at this location.

The site is safe, but be careful there is a raccoon or a muskrat living in the hole by the long grass just past the flood gate. The snow is unstable, and can easily slip or sink into the snow. Proper winter gear is required.

There were a total of 7 geese that flew by and went to land in St Mary's but changed their mind. There is large amounts of what looks like rust, or iron on most of the rocks on the run to the river. Could be from corrosion of pipes underground that the water is picking up. There is litter in the water body and large amounts of microplastics particles that can be seen with the naked eye. The scum has decreased since last visit, and the odor can only be found immediately above the culvert, and heat can be felt rising.
