Strong smell of something dead near sampling site, but nothing observed. Unsure if it was in the water or on the ground nearby.
Water seemed to have more sediment and debris in it than normal, perhaps due to recent rains. Sailing club members in the water and launching near sampling site, so this is a good location to test for water safety.
Pleasant weather. Reservoir quiet with not many boats or people around. Several geese at the sampling site, but cleared out prior to sampling
Water calm and clear. Last rain was 2 days prior to sampling.
Water choppy during sampling with some debris visible on top. Uncertain if this area had received rain in the past 24 hours, but a storm was visible to the east. One Rcard showed an unusual amount of E.coli compared to the others from this sampling as well as of past samplings.
Very busy day at this area of the reservoir. Nearly all parking spaces in this area were taken up by boat trailers. Also much activity noted at the sailing club area near the sampling site.
Partly cloudy with some light rain sprinkles as sampling began. About half of the first sample taken rolled off the R-card, which may explain the significant difference in coliforms from that sample from the others
Very warm day. Many geese showed up while sampling. No more evidence of dredging at this location
Sampled just before a thunderstorm. The weather was windy and the water a little choppy. Many people were out using the boat launch at Madison Landing. In the past week there has been a good bit of rain in the area but there did not appear to have been rain on this day at this site prior to sampling.
The results of this sampling indicated a significant increase in Other Coliforms. It’s also the first instance of E Coli showing up during a sampling of this site. The water seemed higher than normal, was choppy, and full of debris. Dredging is being done nearby and may be a factor in these readings. However since this location is just beginning to be sampled, it’s difficult to know what is normal for this time of year.
