View all photosSteady moderate flow
Clear and ‘clean’
Sewage smell is light and intermittent.
And no smell between weir and tunnel upstream of firehall.
Depth at gauge is 44
Depth is 30cm at gauge
Very birdy today
No sewage smell smell anywhere in the creek from end of Goldsmith to this location
Water level 30 at riffle gauge
Lower at this location than yesterday
Water running faster than on slow days, and level is higher than average but lower than yesterday
Level is 34 at riffle
Not sure how to consistently describe it here
And on walking home, strong sewage smell between weir and entry to tunnel opposite firehall. But none that I notice at riffle or below.
I think we should test the water exiting the pipe that exits the stone wall by the concrete box. There is no smell upstream of it to the weir
Strong sewage smell upstream at riffle and here. Alison and I had wondered if the smell we have been reporting had come from the manhole on Monteith and not the creek. But today there's no smell at the manhole and definitely from the creek.
Water height at riffle gauge is 42.
It's high here but not up the bank so I'm calling it average.
Faster water flow than typically;
Water level higher and faster than yesterday, but not "high" or "surging".
The strong sewage smell slightly upstream at the depth gauge and culvert opening is not present here, and the water is clear, unlike upstream. This is often the case.
