water entering further upstream from outflow showed no surface foam or film. Surface film and foam has been a usual observation on previous test visits.

The location (Fryent Country Park) is very wet in winter. Surface rain water flows down from the higher ground above the stream and should dilute polluted contribution from nearby roads and built up areas in the catchment. Readings are currently much lower than in summer or early autumn.
