Tawatinaw River
Athabasca, Alberta, Canada
This is a lagoon that was created when the river was straightened for the Hwy 55 bridge project. Depending on the water level in the Tawatinaw, this lagoon can sometimes be connected to the river. Water from the highway and a large culvert add runoff. The water is still.
The area is sheltered and is visited by various wildlife. Evidence of deer and beaver.
