Algae, water is low, beaver around, opaque water.
No beaver sightings today but more trees have been cut which suggests ongoing activity.
Watch for traffic and park well off the highway.
Beaver slapped his tail once. Obvious sign of beaver activity all around. Be aware of angry beaver.
Everything is clear. Follow the trail to go to the location to monitor.
The water was more than cloudy almost opaque. There were fish present as I watched a large one jump for bugs. There were 6 ripples - it was big. There were many minnows visiting me as I was in the water. They liked my toes and the conductivity meter. There is a lot of cowsparnip in the path and by the river. This can be toxic to human skin and can cause irritation if it comes into contact with the skin. Four snails with broken shells, I did not step on.
The vegetation is overgrown and is covering the path. Be careful of stinging needles and wildlife in the forest. Make noise before approaching the river to ensure that wildlife in the area hears you.
Freshwater Explorer Testkit; Lot of vegetation and water flow was almost none.
It rained yesterday, there was steeped bank. Water colour was dark suggesting natural debris and vegetative contamination in river due to rain. Turbidity is high, entrance is steeped, EHSS- found wild strawberries vegetation attracting bears, there was a cardboard and plastic trash which might affect the river quality because it is non- biodegradable.
No conductivity or water temperature measured because conductivity meter battery was dead- lots of grey alder(Alnus) along riparian. Hundreds of black fly swarms.
New foliage- thick- make noise ensure BEAR NOT IN AREA- Spotted black bear just before bridge
Steep hill. Shrubs near the shore, sandy top soil.
Steepways, shrubs and trees are at the shore, partially covered by the bridge above. Sandy soil is near the shore, and some rocks are on the shore.
